Formula For Profession of Eremitic Vows

 

   By an Eremitic of St. Augustine devoted to the Immaculate Conception

 

Almighty and ever living God, I, _____________________, confirmed in

your sight as __________________, although unworthy to be looked upon with favor by You, yet trusting in Your goodness and mercy, and moved by the desire of serving You perfectly, vow to Your Divine Majesty, in the presence of the [Most] Reverend _____________, [Bishop of the Diocese of _____________] [a priest of the Society of Jesus] [pastor of the parish of ____________], who receives my vows: poverty, chastity and obedience, in stricter withdrawal from the world, in the silence of solitude and assiduous prayer and penance.  [I do this in respect to your call to assist the children of Mary, the Immaculate Conception, in their parish ministries as the Holy Spirit and they may instruct and allow, enabling them to devote themselves to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word and the Sacraments.]

 

Receive, O Blessed Mother of God, our Immaculate Conception, into your most Holy and Immaculate Heart, these vows which I have just made before you and

 

God, and having purified them in the fire of your love, deign to offer them to your Divine

 

Son, that He may receive them in an odor of sweetness and give me abundant grace to

 

keep them.
